From November 14 to 16, the First International Forum on Cell and Gene Therapy, jointly hosted by the Cell Medicine Branch of the China Food and Drug Enterprise Quality and Safety Promotion Association (CFDQP), the Vaccine and Biological Products Quality uation and Standards Professional Committee of CFDQP, the Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Association, and the Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association, was successfully concluded. This event, along with the Second Forum on Novel Vaccines and Biological Products Development and the High-Tech Achievement Exhibition of Outstanding Member Enterprises of CFDQP (collectively referred to as the "Two Forums and One Exhibition"), brought together distinguished scholars, entrepreneurs, and investors from the global biotechnology sector. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the latest scientific research achievements, industry dynamics, and future prospects in cell and gene therapy, injecting new momentum into the innovation-driven development of the biopharmaceutical industry and providing robust support for the sustained advancement of this field.

On the morning of November 15, the opening ceremony of the "Two Forums" was held in Conference Hall 2 of the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center. Distinguished guests attending the conference included 11 academicians: Zhang Xian'en, Ji Guangju, Zhang Dan, Cai Zhiming, He Yuerong, Mao Zhenbin, Chen Zhinan, Mark A. Kay, Wang Yutian, Lu Hongzhou, and Shi Qiong. In addition, over 100 experts, scholars, and technical professionals from major research institutions, higher education institutions, and the cell and gene therapy and vaccine R&D sectors participated in the presentation sessions, sharing their latest research findings and profound insights in the field of cell and gene therapy.

Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Vice Director of the Cell Medicine Branch and Chairman of Shenzhen Cell Valley, served as the Co-Executive Chair of the forum and presided over the opening ceremony and the national group standard release ceremony.

Under the meticulous preparation and leadership of Professor Chen Junhui of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Co-Executive Chair of the forum, the conference was successfully convened. Professor Chen briefly introduced the organizational structure and execution of the "Two Forums." The forum consisted of one main forum and six sub-forums, with total attendance exceeding 1,500 participants—a large-scale, high-level, and broadly influential professional technical event.

National Group Standard Release Ceremony


       To advance the internationalization of China's cell and gene therapy field and fill gaps in industry standards, the forum released the Guidelines for the Preparation and Testing of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes, drafted under the leadership of Qingdao Haier Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. and Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, as well as the Guidelines for the Development of (Cellular) Immunotherapy Products Based on mRNA-LNP Technology, drafted under the leadership of the Key Laboratory for Quality Monitoring and uation of Vaccines and Biological Products and Hunan Yuantai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. These standards are of significant and far-reaching importance in overcoming key technological bottlenecks constraining industry development, seizing the high ground in the new round of technological and industrial revolution, and advancing the industry toward high-quality development.

02 Sub-Forum: Cell Preparation and Vector Technology Forum

On the afternoon of November 15, the Cell Preparation and Vector Technology Forum was held as scheduled. The forum was opened by Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman of Shenzhen Cell Valley, and Dr. Xiang Hua, Co-founder and Deputy General Manager, who then led in-depth discussions and exchanges on the latest advances and future directions in cell preparation and vector technology.

03 High-Tech Achievement Exhibition of Outstanding Member Enterprises of CFDQP

The 26th China International High-Tech Achievements Fair (Hi-Tech Fair) concluded successfully on November 16. In the biomedical sector, the Cell and Gene Therapy and Vaccine Forum and the High-Tech Achievement Exhibition of Outstanding Member Enterprises became a major highlight of this year's Hi-Tech Fair. Over the three-day exhibition, more than 15,000 visitors came to view the exhibits and engage in business discussions.
